A new Chief Executive.appointed to Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has successfully appointed a new Chief Executive.
Paul Mears will join the UHB in September and brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously been CEO of Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Chief Operating Officer at Torbay Hospital and Director of Operations of Torbay Care Trust (an integrated community health and social care organisation). More recently Paul has been working in healthcare consultancy advising clients in health technology and infrastructure as well as the NHS.
Professor Marcus Longley, Chair of Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, said: “I am delighted to announce the successful appointment of Paul Mears as our new Chief Executive. This is an exciting, yet challenging, time to join the Health Board and Paul’s experience and skills will help us to build on the positive work that’s already been put in place as well as drive innovation and continued improvements across Cwm Taf Morgannwg. We all look forward to welcoming him to the organisation later this year.”
Paul Mears said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed as the new Chief Executive and I am really looking forward to joining the team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg. I believe that there are some exciting opportunities ahead and I am confident that together we will be able to continue to take the organisation forward and make a real difference for our local communities. I have been struck by the passion and enthusiasm of the staff I have spoken to through the recruitment process and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone across the Health Board, as well as our stakeholders, when I take up my post later this year.”
