It’s Official – Jade is one of our Heroes!

Congratulations to Jade Benjamin, occupational therapy assistant in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital who is the Regional (Wales) winner of the Our Health Heroes Clinical Support Worker of the Year!

Jade works in the mental health unit and was nominated for her inspirational approach in assisting people with dementia within the Older Person’s Mental Health assessment ward.

On receiving the award, Jade said: “I feel privileged to be nominated and receive this award. I enjoy my role and the difference it makes to people’s lives. Thank you to everyone who has supported me including the Older Persons’ Mental Health Occupational Therapy service.”

Janet Bevan, principal occupational therapist at the health board, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for Jade to win and receive the recognition of the Health Heroes Regional (Wales) Clinical Support Worker of the year award.  She has, and continues to work tirelessly to support people living with dementia and their carers.  Her passion and commitment to enhance well-being and quality of life is astounding, and she continually drives to provide new innovative solutions to promote independence. Well done Jade, Older Persons Occupational therapy, the wider Therapies Directorate and our organisation are proud of you!”
