Further arrests following Pontypridd incident
A total of eleven people have been arrested following the disturbance in Pontypridd on May 3.
In addition to previous arrests, four teenage boys and two teenage girls have been arrested in the past five days – all have been released on police bail.
Four others previously arrested in connection with the incident are also on police bail, during which time they are prohibited from contacting specific individuals or banned from using social media.
One man arrested – 18 year-old Kyle Townsend – is being held on remand until he appears at Merthyr Magistrates Court on 30 May charged with breaching his criminal behaviour order.
Local Policing Inspector Stephen Daley: “The behaviour of a large group of youths on May 3 caused significant community concern and it won’t be tolerated.
“Our investigation is continuing and anybody directly involved can expect a knock on their door.”
