Calling all tradespeople… protect the tools of your trade…
Police in #Rhondda area are urging van owners to be vigilant and ensure valuables are removed from vehicles overnight, following a number of thefts and attempted thefts.
Five vans have been targeted in just 24 hours – officers believe thieves are looking for valuable power tools to steal and sell on.
Anybody who has information about the thefts, or who believes they may have been offered stolen power tools, should contact 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Advice for tradespeople:
Thieves will target vulnerable vehicles, or those which they believe are most are likely to hold tools.
Always secure vehicles.
If possible, clear you vehicle of any valuable tools overnight.
If that is not possible make sure they are not in view.
When possible park your van on a private drive or in a garage.
If that's not possible ensure your van is parked in a well-lit area.
