After Storm Callum – Rescheduled Date for Caerphilly Plein Air Event announced.

Caerphilly Plein Air Competition

Rescheduled date announced : Sunday 4th November

The earmarked Plein Air Competition would have been a first for Caerphilly had it not been for other ideas from Storm Callum.  The organisers envisaged it bringing together lots of artists to paint outdoors and being an event to remember… for the right reasons.  Sadly the treacherous weather conditions meant the event was postponed.  It has now been rescheduled and will take place on Sunday 4th November.

 How to participate:

·         Register your interest beforehand by emailing your details to: ygalericaerffili@gmail.com

·         Turn up at Y Galeri Caerffili (on the ground Floor of the Visit Caerphilly Centre) from 9.30am onwards on the day to pay your entrance fee & get your blank canvas, paper or board stamped before you start.  N.B Participants should bring their own materials.

·         Find yourself an interesting viewpoint somewhere in Caerphilly and create an artwork inspired by your chosen vista

·         Return your finished masterpiece to the gallery by 4pm.

Artists 16+ are eligible to enter.  Entrance fee is £5.00 per artwork payable on the day.

The winning artwork will be selected by plein air artist Louise Collis who will be looking for a piece she feels best captures the essence of Caerphilly. The winner stands to win a £100 gift voucher to spend in Y Galeri Caerffili. All finished artworks will be displayed in the gallery from 6 – 10 November and feature in their on-line gallery.  Artworks will be available for sale.
