Police release details of Rhondda assault suspect

Police investigating a serious assault on an elderly man in Rhondda are appealing to locate a 27 year-old suspect.
Officers want to speak to Luke Lewis in connection with the assault which left the victim in hospital with serious injuries.
The 74 year-old man – who is believed to be known to the suspect – was discovered at his home in John Street, Pentre, by family members on Wednesday morning (1 August) with serious facial injuries, severe bruising and broken bones.
Luke Lewis is local to the area but is believed to be in Aberdare – anybody who has seen him or who knows where he is should contact South Wales Police via 101 quoting reference *289048.
Detective Inspector Arabella Rees, said: “This individual is wanted in connection with a serious offence which left an elderly man needing hospital treatment for what are severe injuries.
“I will remind friends and associates of Luke Lewis that harbouring a wanted suspect is also a serious offence.”
