Bees for Development features on BBC Radio 4 Appeal

During the week beginning Sunday December 11, the BBC Radio 4 Appeal will be presented by Bill Turnbull on behalf of Bees for Development.
Bill stepped back from presenting BBC Breakfast earlier this year, mentioning his desire “to spend more time beekeeping!” He now presents his own weekend radio show on Classic FM.
Bill has kept bees for over twenty years, and is the self-styled ‘bad beekeeper’, recording his beekeeping exploits in The Bad Beekeeper’s Club.  It his passion for learning by doing, and ability to inspire new beekeepers. that make him an invaluable asset when promoting the work of Bees for Development as one of the Monmouth-based chaity's Patrons.
Listen to BBC Radio 4 on Sunday 11 December at 7.55am, or at 9.26pm. The Appeal will be broadcast again on the afternoon of Thursday 15 December at 3.27pm, and will be available to listen again at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4.
We’re delighted that Bill is presenting our BBC Radio 4 Appeal, and hoping that our message will reach many listeners throughout the UK and beyond” said Dr Nicola Bradbear, founder of Bees for Development.  "We have two key aims for the appeal: to raise vital funds for our work with bees and beekeepers in some of the poorest countries, and to create awareness of beekeeping and its valuable role in supporting rural livelihoods, as well as in maintaining biodiversity.  It is vital that we all do more to protect bees and their habitat".
