OUTDOOR ADVENTURE ON OFFER IN ROYAL WELSH SHOW

A sandy beach, rock pools, mountain bikes and virtual fishing – you can enjoy them all on the Natural Resources Wales stand at the Royal Welsh Show.

This year NRW is supporting Visit Wales’ Year of Adventure by giving ideas and inspiration to help families to get outdoors and get active.

A series of family activities on the beach will also help children understand about our seaside environment.

Meinir Wigley, NRW’s marketing and Events Manager, explains:

“We’re lucky in Wales to have such a spectacular natural environment, boasting some of the best mountains, beaches and bike trails. NRW manages over 60 National Nature Reserves, and we’ve got 550km of mountain bike trails, 135km of horse riding trails and 450km of walking trails on the land that we manage.

“Most of our activities are free or inexpensive – and right on people’s doorstep, wherever you are in Wales. The activities on our show stand are designed to give people a taste of what we have on offer.”

There will also be a series of drop in sessions for farmers:

·         Every day farmers will be able to register for their waste exemption on the stand. NRW staff will be on hand to help farmers complete their registration online.

·         Tuesday there will be people on hand to answer any questions about the Glastir Woodland Creation scheme.

·         On Wednesday the focus will be on agricultural pollution and a discussion on how to plan and prepare so that any future issues are prevented.

Meinir continues:

“We are looking forward to welcoming people on to our stand at the Show – it’s stand number CCA 793 in the Countryside Care Area. Please pop in!”

Spread the love
