South Wales Police are advising residents in Rhondda Cynon Taf & Merthyr to be vigilant after reports of counterfeit money being passed as payment in the area.
The counterfeit notes have included £20 and £50 notes.
Anyone who has concerns, or who has fallen victim to counterfeit notes, should call us on 101.
Counterfeit banknotes are rare, but it always pays to be careful. Only a small fraction of 1% of banknotes in circulation are counterfeit.
