Carers Trust encourages the nation to Get Christmassy for Carers

The Carers Trust is encouraging the nation to appreciate and support unpaid carers this year through the Get Christmassy for Carers campaign.

Many of the 370,000 unpaid carers across the UK are young people. Findings from Carers Trust research published earlier this year found that 30% of unpaid carers don’t get a break during a typical week, whilst those who do often use the time to keep on top of household chores. This offers young carers little opportunities to take part in Christmas parties, shopping and spending time with loved ones, making Christmas a particularly stressful time of year for these young people.

To show support and appreciation of unpaid carers the Carers Trust is encouraging the nation to get involved in Christmassy selfies to share across social media using #ChristmassyforCarers. Donations are also being taken, and money raised will help provide vital breaks and support services for unpaid carers.
