‘Overdue’ neonatal investment must see improvements
Commenting on a £7.5 million investment at UHW’s neonatal unit in Cardiff – which has recently been closed for a second time due to infection – Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister, Darren Millar AM, said:
“This investment is long overdue and Labour’s Health Minister must now ensure it leads to clear improvements.
“The patient’s watchdog raised serious concerns over space and infection control at this unit in the summer and recent events prove little has got better.
“Throwing money at the problem alone is not enough.
“The current investigation must result in robust new measures and the Minister has a duty to reassure communities that this won’t happen again.”
