Waiting times report: 1 in 7 on an NHS list
Commenting on the publication of a report by the Royal College of Surgeons – which labels NHS waiting times in Wales ‘unacceptably high’ – Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Health, Darren Millar AM, said:
“This is yet more evidence that Welsh patients are getting a raw deal. In England, just six per cent of the population is on a waiting list. Here, it’s 15 per cent – one in seven. That’s a national scandal.
“Labour’s record-breaking NHS budget cuts – not seen anywhere else in the UK – are taking their toll. Hardworking staff are under immense pressure and frontline services have been hit hard.
“Labour ministers need to get a grip and improve performance so that patients are seen within a timely fashion.”
