Museum Open Days
Three Open Days are planned at the Cynon Valley Museum and Gallery during Half Term, with fun for all the family taking place, including Halloween workshops, as well as all the usual attractions.
Doors will be open from 10am until 4pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 29-31). All are welcome on the three days.
The latest Open Day will also incorporate an Art and Craft Fayre – the perfect place to pick up your early Christmas gifts – on Saturday, October 31.
Local artists and craftspeople will be showing off their skills and selling their products alongside members of the Cardiff and the Valleys Etsy Group, and online marketplace showcasing community talent and crafts.
Among the local crafts on display and on sale will be paintings, prints, jewellery, traditional Welsh lovespoons and much more.
This fabulous FREE event, organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and the Cynon Valley Museum Trust, is aimed at all ages and will offer visitors the chance to discover what life was like in the County Borough in bygone years.
Take a nostalgic stroll among all the exhibits, including an old-fashioned corner shop – complete with its bell above the front door to tell the shopkeeper that customers have arrived!
Refreshments will also be on sale throughout the day at the Cynon Valley Museum and Gallery Café.
Members of the Cynon Valley Museum Trust will also be on hand to discuss the future development of the museum and talk to potential volunteers.
