Rhondda diabetes group hosts Q and A with dietitian
Rhondda’s Diabetes UK Cymru group is inviting people affected by diabetes in the area to join them for a question and answer session with an expert dietitian.
The meeting is open to the public, starting at 6.30pm on Thursday 3rd September and will take place at Tonypandy Methodist Church, next to Home Bargains.
Diabetes UK Cymru’s Director Dai Williams said: “Eating a healthy, balanced diet is key to help manage diabetes. This will be a great chance for the 13,900 people living with diabetes in
Rhondda Cynon Taf to get top tips and practical advice on their diet.”
The Rhondda group meet monthly to offer support and information to people living with diabetes in the area.
Jane Jones, from Tonypandy, secretary of the Rhondda group, said: “I chose to get involved with the group because I have Type 2 diabetes and other members of my family have the condition.
“My husband and I decided to go along to a meeting to see whether we could help and also pick up some advice from other people living with the condition. We’ve been a part of the group ever since and think it could be a real lifeline for people who are struggling to manage their condition.
“Whether you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes or you are close to someone who has diabetes, it is a really great way of getting information and support.”
