Walk with us and help us save lives in RCT

Take part in an exhilarating sponsored walk through some of the most spectacular countryside in South Wales in aid of local charity Welsh Hearts Calonnau Cymru. The walk will take place on Saturday 19th September. You will start off in Dare Valley Country Park and can choose from a shorter 5km or a 10km walk.

There will be lots of activities for you to enjoy after the walk as well as for your friends and family to enjoy whilst supporting you. There will be a fun fair, go karts, face painting, food and refreshments.

The walk is free and registration opens at 9am with the walk to start at 10am.

Welsh Hearts are raising money for local communities for their RCT100 Dai Fib Appeal. The charity is working alongside Doctors and Cardiologists throughout Wales who give their time for free to the charity.  Sharon Owen, Charity Director at Welsh Hearts said:

"RCT suffers the worst level of premature cardiac deaths in Wales and suffers the worst in Europe. Approximately 8000 sudden cardiac deaths occur in Wales every year outside hospital. We are fundraising to purchase life saving equipment for every community in RCT so they are equipped with public access defibrillators and training on how to use them. The RCT100 project recognises the health problems faced by Welsh patients and will hopefully save lives.”

Welsh Hearts relies heavily on extremely kind donations in order to provide life-saving equipment to communities across Wales so they are asking everyone taking part to get sponsorship from friends and family.

You can sign up for the walk by visiting the Welsh Hearts website or calling the fundraising office on, 02920 341989.
