Two arrested after three knifepoint robberies in Merthyr
Police in Merthyr Tydfil have arrested two men in connection with three knifepoint robberies which have occurred since Sunday, 28 March, 2019.
On 31 March, 2019, a wallet and a phone was stolen from a man as he walked along the Taff Trail near Aberfan.
Then on Tuesday night (2 April, 2019), two shops were robbed within 20 minutes – the first, on Roberts Avenue, at 8.53pm and the second, on Church Street, at 9.11pm.
The men, aged 20 and 21, are from the local area and are currently in police custody.
The investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
