Go Pink this October for Tenovus Cancer Care
ctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Tenovus Cancer Care, Wales’ leading cancer charity, needs you to Go Pink on Friday 22nd October.
Each year, 55,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s 150 people a day. Tenovus Cancer Care is on a mission this October to help fund vital support for cancer patients and their loved ones throughout Wales and continue to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
This year more than any other year, those affected by cancer need your support. The pandemic has meant that people have been hesitant to go to their doctor to get checked up, which means that many more people could have cancer and breast cancer than we currently know of.
Tenovus Cancer Care wants to be there for those people as and when they are needed.
In the 1970s researchers at the Tenovus Institute for Cancer Research helped develop the use of Tamoxifen, the most widely used breast cancer drug in the world. Since then, it’s gone on to save the lives of millions of women with breast cancer.
Join us on Friday 22nd of October and hold a pink fundraiser in your community or workplace. This will help the charity to continue to make a real difference to the lives of breast cancer patients and their families across the country.
By only raising £220 this could allow Tenovus Cancer Care’s trained cancer nurses to provide support and guidance to 16 people in Wales going through cancer treatment through its specialist Callback service. Or better yet, £550 would pay the cost to run the charity’s free cancer Support Line for a whole day.
