Responding to the announcement from SNP Leader John Swinney, that he will work with Plaid Cymru and Sinn Fein to break up the United Kingdom, Welsh Conservative Leader Darren Millar said:
“The cat is out of the bag – a vote for Plaid Cymru is a vote to form a dangerous alliance with Sinn Fein and the SNP to break up the United Kingdom.
“The Union between Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland is one of the most successful partnerships in history. In an increasingly unstable world, we are stronger and safer together.
“Wales cannot afford four wasted years of constitutional distraction and division while the NHS, schools and the economy suffer.”
“Nigel Farage has been very clear that he regards a further referendum on Scottish independence as ‘quite reasonable’.
“Only the Welsh Conservatives will protect our country from the nationalists seeking to break up the UK. We will focus on putting more money into people’s pockets and fixing our public services to get Wales working.”
Sinn Féin, political party that long was widely regarded as the political wing of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA), though from at least the 1990s both organizations emphasized their separateness.
