Leisure centres and community venues across Caerphilly will be offering a wide range of sport, play and leisure activities this February half term, running from Saturday 16th to Sunday 22nd February.
The programme brings together activities delivered by Leisure Lifestyle, Sport Caerphilly, Caerphilly Play and Caerphilly Adventures, offering something for children and young people of all ages and abilities.
Leisure Lifestyle:
Leisure centres across the county borough will be running a varied half term swim programme, including access to the general pool timetable, fun inflatable swim sessions, intensive swimming lessons, and more family fun.

Sport Caerphilly – Sports Camps:
Football Camps
Football camps for children aged 7 to 12 will take place at:
- Risca Leisure Centre – Monday 16th to Thursday 19th February (Thursday girls-only)
- St Cenydd Leisure Centre – Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th February (Wednesday girls-only)
Netball Camps
- Tuesday 17th February – Centre for Skills and Learning, Pontllanfraith (Years 3–6)
- Wednesday 18th February – Sue Noake Leisure Centre, Ystrad Mynach (Years 7–9)
- Thursday 19th February – Cwm Rhymni Y Gwyndy Campus, Caerphilly (Years 3–6)
All sports camps will run 9:00-15:00 and must be booked in advance through the Leisure Lifestyle app.
Caerphilly Play – Free Play Sessions Across the Borough
Caerphilly Play will be delivering free Pop-Up and Play sessions for children aged 4 to 12 at community venues across the borough throughout half term. These relaxed, creative sessions are free to attend, with no booking required.
Pop-Up and Play sessions will take place from Monday 16th to Friday 20th February, including venues in Pontllanfraith, Tirphil, Deri, Plasmawr, Fochriw, Cwmfelinfach, Senghenydd and Rhydri. Families are encouraged to follow Caerphilly Play on social media for the latest Pop-Up and Play session dates, times and locations.
Free Disability Play sessions will also run during half term for ages 4-17 at:
- Monday 16th February – Centre for Skills and Learning, Pontllanfraith (10.00–12.00)
- Thursday 19th February – St Cenydd Leisure Centre (13.00–15.00)
Disability Play sessions must be booked in advance through the Leisure Lifestyle app and parents or guardians must stay throughout the session.
Caerphilly Adventures – Climbing Wall Sessions:
Children and young people can also try something new with climbing wall sessions at the Centre for Skills and Learning, Pontllanfraith, delivered by Caerphilly Adventures.
Four climbing wall sessions will run throughout the day on Wednesday 18th February. Sessions must be booked in advance through the Leisure Lifestyle app.

The programme supports the council’s Sport and Active Recreation Strategy, encouraging positive, active habits from an early age.
