Just before 2:15 am this morning, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Glenboi, Mountain Ash. Firefighters from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service worked diligently to control the fire, while South Wales Police officers closed nearby roads and evacuated residents from adjacent properties. Tragically, an individual was found deceased inside the home.
A joint investigation is currently underway between South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, with assistance from Rhondda Cynon Taff Council. A secure scene has been set up, and Crime Scene and Fire Investigators will conduct their examinations once the structure is deemed safe.
The road will remain closed for some time as investigations continue.
