Rising star Chloe Davies continues to impress on the shooting circuit with support from Pennant Walters

Welsh clay shooter Chloe Davies is continuing her impressive rise through the national and international ranks, proudly representing Wales as an international athlete for the fifth consecutive year.

Chloe, age 19 from Gilfach Goch, has received support from Pennant Walters, which will help further her sporting career.

Having received support from the energy company for the past three years, the contribution will go towards new shooting clothing and trainers, with any remaining funds helping to cover essential competition expenses, including transport to shooting grounds, entry fees, clays, and accommodation for away events.

The donation comes from funds linked to Pennant Walters’ Pant y Wal and Fforch Nest wind farms — located in the Gilfach Goch, Blackmill, Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taf areas. Together, the two sites comprise 21 turbines producing 53 megawatts of clean electricity — enough to power the equivalent of 25,000 homes.

Chloe began shooting nine years ago, initially competing in the sporting discipline, before quickly transitioning to Down the Line (DTL), and focusing on Olympic Trap – one of the most technically demanding and competitive shooting disciplines. Chloe’s recent successes highlight her dedication and talent. In October she won Ladies High Gun at Angie’s Memorial Shoot, whilst earlier in the season, she secured 4th place in the British Championship, having previously claimed the 2024 Junior Ladies British Champion title last year.

Adding to her impressive record, Chloe also competed in the International event in August, where she finished runner-up, further cementing her status as one of Wales’ leading female shooters.

Chloe commented:

“I’m so grateful for the support from Pennant Walters, as it makes a real difference. The support allows me to invest in the right equipment whilst supporting travel costs to competitions. I’m excited to keep improving and representing Wales at the highest level.”

Dale Hart, Managing Director of Pennant Walters, said:

“Chloe is a hugely talented young athlete, and we’re delighted to support her ambitions.

“Our wind energy projects come with funds that we use to invest in the local community, and we’re very much looking forward to following Chloe’s journey.”
