The Welsh Labour Government has announced a ‘new plan’ to make the NHS in Wales ‘greener’ as long waits for treatment continue to increase.
The Health Minister’s “NHS Wales Decarbonisation Strategic Delivery Plan” aims to achieve a Net Zero NHS by 2050.
The Welsh Conservatives have criticised the Health Minister’s “warped priorities”, particularly given the latest waiting list statistics which revealed that the longest waits for treatment of two or more years have increased yet again.
Commenting, James Evans MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care said:
“Labour’s warped priorities for Wales are once again on full display.
“In typical fashion, Labour Ministers are prioritising a ‘net zero NHS’ over cutting waiting lists, despite the fact that you are nearly five hundred times more likely to wait over two years for treatment on the Welsh NHS than in England.
“The Welsh Conservatives are clear, Wales has had enough of Labour and Plaid’s costly virtue signalling exercises. Our credible plan to declare a health emergency, increase the number of hospital beds and boost staffing numbers will fix the Welsh NHS.”
