During Spokesperson’s Questions to Labour Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, expressed his concern over the lack of action from local authorities in dealing with issues of crime and anti-social behaviour, especially when many residents feel unsafe and many business owners feel vulnerable to crime.
Commenting after Spokesperson’s Questions, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, said:
“High streets are the heart of our communities, they are more than just roads and shops and they give our neighbourhoods their character and their soul.
“Our high streets have been suffering for many years and councils are failing to get on top of crime and anti-social behaviour, with many residents and shop owners raising serious safety concerns.
“It is deeply disappointing that the Welsh Labour Government and many of our local authorities are burying their heads in the sand on this issue. We need to see real action to revitalise our high streets and ensure both residents and business owners can feel safe on their communities.”
