New Wales Environment Bill progresses to next steps say RSPB Cymru

RSPB Cymru report: Saturday, 26 July and it’s a crucial time for nature in Wales. With big decisions being made on the Environment Bill and the future of farming, what happens next could shape wildlife’s future for generations.

Next steps for new Environment Bill – together, we’re speaking up for nature

Over the past few months, many of you have asked Welsh Government to set ambitious targets for biodiversity as part of the new Environment Bill. If you contacted your MS, then thank you for taking action for nature.

Now, the Senedd’s Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committe are consulting experts, environmental organisations and more to take a closer look at the Bill and help Government to improve it.

We’re working alongside WWF Cymru and Green Alliance to make sure the Bill delivers for Wales’ wildlife. Watch RSPB Cymru’s Head of Nature Policy, Annie Smith, present the case to the committee, for a headline target on the Bill to reverse the decline in species by 2035, not 2050.
