Cynon Valley MS is delighted that the Welsh Government is bringing in a new £1 bus fare for everyone up to age 21. In September children who live 3 miles from their comprehensive schools and colleges will have to either walk 6 miles or catch a bus. I you are one of the lucky ones you may be taken to school in a car.
Parents will have to pay £1 each way up to £40 a month for one child to go to school, and double that if they have two kids. This is on top of their council tax.
All Labour politicians will and have followed the party line they think more of the party than their constituents and the money they will lose out on.
There is no thought for the kids only money, money they could afford to run school buses if they stuck to the basics that a council should be doing. Not going into the electricity supply business, purchasing umpteen shops, some to demolish like the M&S store in Pontypridd to setting up a tea garden next to a public park it makes no sense, there are plenty of cafes in Pontypridd.
