All that’s left of Mountain Ash Hospital is a pile of bricks and one ruined building

FB: This building like Aberdare was paid for by minors 6pence old money . Then donated to the both hospitals by N.C.B. I can’t understand how both buildings weren’t listed. I can understand Cynon/ Dare Wards Day Unit Aberdare as they were built 1990’s . I worked in Mountain Ash for a few months. That would have made a amazing rest bite unit . Upstairs could have been used as a day unit, baby’s clinic. Numerous activities could have kept that hospital running.
Shame on those that made the decision to sell both properties.
What will happen to the place now it’s got so much history was left to the people of Mountain Ash and should be used for the people too, as Aberdare Hospital was stolen and sold by NHS this shouldn’t happen here as well should it? I would like it to be a music venue and give bands here a chance instead of them having to go miles for a studio. What say you, Mountain Ash it could earn it’s keep and more. Mount is drifting into oblivion and that group of buildings could bring in life to our town, look at what’s on offer in town and see the potential of growth not outsider new houses but music venues and a studio to work in investment, please ?!?
