RCT Council Flood work update for the Rhondda

RCT Council Flood work update for the Rhondda

The Council has provided an update on the works activity that has taken place within Rhondda communities, in the days following Storm Bert.

In relation to infrastructure repairs, only one location reported to the Council has required emergency repair work due to damage sustained in the storm.

Officers attended Hendrewen Road in #Blaencwm following reports of damage to the road and footway (pictured).

Carriageway repairs have subsequently been completed, with all temporary traffic management since being removed.

Meanwhile, to help residents directly affected by flooding, the Council suspended its planned resurfacing programme to re-allocate resources to the clear-up effort.

Contractor Heidelberg Materials was able to assist residents with clearance of flood-damaged properties at Dunraven Street and Abertonllwyd Street in #Treherbert, and Britannia Street in #Porth.
