MountainAsh and at the nearby section of Troed-y-Rhiw Road update from latest flood event

The Council has provided an update on the ongoing storm repair work to the carriageway at the A4059 in Mountain Ash and at the nearby section of Troed-y-Rhiw Road.

Emergency road repairs at the A4059, near the petrol station, were completed yesterday. Temporary two-way traffic lights on this section of the main road are now removed.

Carriageway and footway repairs are continuing at the adjacent section of Troed-y-Rhiw Road, following damage sustained during Storm Bert.

An emergency road closure is in place at this location, and work is expected to be completed by the end of the week – with the possibility it could be completed sooner.

Troed-y-Rhiw Road is closed between its junctions with the A4059 and The Poplars. Access will be maintained for those residents living at Bron-y-Deri, while school transport will also be permitted through the closure section.
