Responding to the news that Welsh train staff are considering strike action over pay, Natasha Asghar MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Transport, said:

“Rail is an essential form of transport for many people across Wales and any industrial action could cause significant disruption to people’s lives.

“It’s crucial that Labour, who fund Transport for Wales and bailed them out with £125 million last year despite losses of £300 million, act swiftly to resolve this and prevent disruption on Welsh lines.

“The people of Wales deserve reliable public transport, not financial mismanagement and political inaction.”
