Emergency services are continuing searches along the River Taff after Joshua Shaw, aged 23, was seen going into the river on Wednesday night, 27th December.

Searches have been conducted by South Wales Police with the assistance of the National Police Air Service (NPAS), HM Coastguard and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service however he remains missing.

Josh is believed to have been wearing a grey hoodie, dark coloured bottoms, and white trainers.

Our Specialist Search and Rescue Team (SSRT) and NPAS are continuing searches along the length of the River Taff from Pontypridd down towards Cardiff.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Leigh Parfitt said: “We are appealing for witnesses after Josh was seen entering the River Taff in Pontypridd by Llys Cadwyn on Wednesday night, 27th December, just after 6.05pm.

“Despite searches by police officers, fire service and rescue teams Josh remains missing, and we are concerned for his safety.”
