The chronic bus services that residents have to put up with where is our MS MP and the local council?
When asked the question about direct bus service to Cardiff MS Vikki Howells said, busses will feed from outlying areas to connect to the Metro.
I think our MS and the rest of the Senedd need to have a good look at what the public that has no other means of transport and relies on the so-called public transport system has to put up with.
In the longer-term the Welsh Government, supported by Transport for Wales and in collaboration with local authorities and bus operators, will develop the BES to form the basis of a new funding scheme which will allow the £100m+ public contribution to bus operations to better put the needs of passengers ahead of the needs of shareholders. This will include a fairer and more consistent approach to fares, building patronage, and agreement to the principles of an Economic Contract and a Social Charter.
“Buses have been able to help key workers get to work during the pandemic, and will mean the industry can continue to be an essential part of our transport network as we are hopefully in a position to ease restrictions and restart the economy.” This was a comment by Lee Waters, Wales Deputy Transport Minister; what he is saying is a joke, in reality, he like the rest of them doesn’t live in the real world where people are struggling without the problem of not getting to work because of a failed public transport system.

There is only one reason Stagecoach South Wales cannot get drivers they don’t pay enough money in wages it is a responsibility driving a bus through the narrow streets of the South Wales Valleys, so just don’t keep giving the excuse of no drivers you can is you paid them a better wage.
What is this City Deal doing about it resident pay enough into it, and if you need busses to feed the Metro do something about the bus services in RCT.
Cardiff Capital Region City Deal is a £1.2 billion programme that over its lifetime is expected to deliver up to 25,000 new jobs and leverage an additional £4 billion of private sector investment.
Invest in the bus system and stop the bus cancellations I expect someone is making a killing out of the City Deal it won’t be the residents of RCT.
