SAFER INTERNET DAY…..Internet use and Children’s Rights

Why not help us celebrate Safer Internet Day 2021 today and catch-up on a networking event that Children in Wales organised last week?

Mike Mainwaring, one of our highly experienced trainers with extensive experience in children’s rights and participation, delivered a presentation focusing on how children and young people’s internet use may impact upon children’s rights. He spoke in detail about a handful of key articles from the UNCRC that could relate to the use of the internet, and explored the opportunities and threats the internet poses to children and young people.

Please find below a copy of Mike’s actual presentation at the event, together with the Powerpoint slides he used and feedback notes taken in some of the breakout rooms (which pick-up on many of the issues raised at the event).

This was Children in Wales’ second FREE networking event – so keep an eye out for a flyer for the next one in the series.
