Natasha from Foxglove Puppets says, ‘My Auntie is a member of the Sing with Us Cwmbran choir and since the pandemic hit the choir has been meeting virtually so everyone can keep in touch and continue to get the support they need through singing and learning new songs. Like so many charities Tenovus Cancer Care was hit hard financially but has adapted and has kept their services going. So I wanted to do something to help support them through this difficult time and thought I would donate a bespoke puppet to raffle and not only raise vital funds but also raise awareness for the charity. I’m thrilled with the reception of the puppets and I want to raise as much money as possible for a cause that has helped and keeps helping people affected by cancer through these difficult times.’
Tenovus Cancer Care has continued to support cancer patients and their loved ones throughout the pandemic. Its mobile support units are still delivering chemotherapy treatment, their nurse-led support line is still receiving calls and their benefit advisors are still supporting patients with money worries while the choirs continue to meet virtually.
Ceri Hill, Regional Fundraising Manager for Tenovus Cancer Care, say that “the response to the puppets has been brilliant they’re such a fun way to help raise funds.
