Hosted by S&TC Cymru in association with the South East Wales Rivers Trust, Artifishal is a film by Patagonia Inc. about people, rivers and the fight for the future of wild fish and the environment that supports them. It explores wild salmon’s slide toward extinction, threats posed by fish hatcheries and fish farms, and our continued loss of faith in nature. Open net fish farms threaten the survival of wild fish including Atlantic salmon, sea trout and Arctic char but governments are not doing enough to address the problems. Instead the industry is set to expand exponentially in the pristine fjords of Iceland and continues to grow at alarming rates around Norway, Scotland and Ireland
Following the screening there will be a discussion and Q&A about the issues raised in the film and their implications for wild fish populations in Wales.
