Cwm Taf UHB statement in response to Cabinet Secretary’s statement, October 9th
Cwm Taf University Health Board has published the below statement following the Cabinet Secretary’s statement on maternity services on October 9th.
“We welcome today’s statement by the Cabinet Secretary which outlines the comprehensive approach we are taking to this process. We continue to liaise closely with Welsh Government in response to the concerns that have emerged through our internal review and will be sharing all the findings once the investigations are complete.
“We have already undertaken a series of actions which include drawing in external support from other health boards; increasing the staffing and support in our maternity departments and preparing for the Royal Colleges’ review which we welcome, and will build on our own work.
“We understand that highlighting the need to review some past cases has caused anxiety, but we would like to reassure women that every safeguard is in place to ensure that we provide the best possible care for them and their families.”
