ABERCYNON AMENDMENTS TO WEIGHT AND WIDTH RESTRICTIONS
RHONDDA CYNON TAFF CO UNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL (PONTCYNON ROA D, ABERCYNON)
(AMENDMENTS TO WEIGHT AND WIDTH RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council propose to make various Orders under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revo ke the Traffic Regulation Order specified in Schedule 1
2. Prohibit any vehicle, other than an exempted vehicle, exceeding the maximum gross weight limit of 7.5 tones and maximum width limit of 8 feet 6ins (2.6 metres) from proceeding along the length of road specified in Schedule 2
An exempted vehicle for the purposes of this Order will be any vehicle conveying pupils to and from the schools identified in Schedule 3
A copy of the relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the Principal Offices of the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, The Pavilions, Cambrian Park, Clydach Vale, Tonypandy, CF40 2XX and Abercynon Library, Ynysmeurig Road, Abercynon, CF45 4SU until 21st August 2018
Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the Traffic Manager, Sardis House, Sardis Road, Pontypridd, CF37 1DU by 21st August 2018
SCHEDULE 1 – Revocation
The “Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council (Pontcynon Road, Abercynon) (Revocation (Weight Restriction) and (Width Restriction) Order 1996” shall be revoked in its entirety
SCHEDULE 2 – Weight Restriction Exceeding 7.5 tonnes and Width Restriction Exceeding 8 feet 6 inches (2.6 metres
Pontcynon Road, Abercynon from its junction with Greenfield Terrace to its junction with Park View, a distance of approximately 180 metres
SCHEDULE 3 – Exempted Vehicles
Vehicles conveying pupils to and from the following schools:-
i. YGG Abercynon
ii. Mountain Ash Comprehensive School
iii. St John Baptist Church of Wales School
