Rights of Way Matters

hird of Rhondda Cynon Taf is open access land, criss-crossed with trails, community routes and country parks to explore.

Having easy and safe access to the countryside means we can enjoy outdoor activities and exercise, which is good for our health and mental health.

It also means walking and cycling can be promoted as effective transport methods, reducing pollution.

As such, it is vital people have their say on how Rhondda Cynon Taf Council maintains and improves rights of way access, which is why all are invited to share their views on the draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan.

The current plan is being updated and the Council's Countryside Team is keen to secure people's views and ideas.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Heritage Services, said: "Whether we walk, jog, horse-ride or cycle on Rhondda Cynon Taf's public rights of way, it is important the routes are easy to navigate, well maintained and serve the needs of those who wish to access them.

"The draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan is an important piece of work from our Countryside Team to ensure this and we welcome comments, questions and ideas from all."
