Have your say on the future of physiotherapy in the UK

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) campaigns on behalf of the physiotherapy profession in the UK, and internationally too.

It is working with the James Lind Alliance (JLA) on a new Physiotherapy Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) to find out what research is important to patients, carers and clinicians.

They are asking anyone with experience of physiotherapy in the UK to complete their new survey, and tell them what questions need answering. That way they can make sure research focusses on the most urgent needs of patients and promotes health and well being.

Where does stroke come into this?

We conducted a survey of stroke survivors part of our A New Era for Stroke campaign. It suggested that over 80% of people have a physical disability after stroke, and that 38% of those who said their disability was severe also said that their physiotherapy was poor or very poor.

We know that provision of physiotherapy services, especially after patients have left hospital, is just not good enough.  That is why we are asking everyone affected, and who are able to, to complete the CSP survey.

How do I complete the survey?

The survey is available at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy website

It should take between 10-15 minutes to complete, depending on how many questions you have to share. The survey is available online, but can also be printed in English and Welsh language formats and submitted by post.

The deadline to complete and submit the survey is Monday 31 July 2017.
