Soldier from Aberdare has been selected to play in the Centenary Army vs Navy rugby game

A British Army Soldier from Aberdare has been selected to play in the Centenary Army vs Navy rugby game on Saturday. Lance Corporal James Dixon, aged 27, will be performing in front of a sell-out crowd of 80,000 people at Twickenham – including HRH Prince Harry – as he represents the Army in the annual game. Army vs Navy is perhaps the most high profile military competition of the year.

LCpl Dixon is serving with 26 Engineer Regiment, as a combat engineer. As well as representing the Army at the highest level as an outside half or fullback, he also plays for Bedwas RFC in the Welsh Premiership.
