Meeting about major developments at Aberdare Campus, Cwmdare

Coleg y Cymoedd is preparing plans for an outline planning application for the redevelopment of its Aberdare Campus, Cwmdare.
The college want to here peoples opinions on this at a consultation event held on Thursday, December 1, at Llewellyn’s Restaurant, Coleg y Cymoedd’s Aberdare Campus, Cwmdare Road between 4 – 8pm.

This comes after a separate 98-home plan nearby on the former Aberdare Boys' School, Will Labour controlled Rhondda Cynon Taf Council again allow the developer to just build hundreds of properties without doing any major highway investment in infrastructure. Not talking about just a roundabout at the bottom of Cwmdare Hill or worse another set of traffic lights.

Anyone traveling out and into the Cynon Valley would be aware of the major problems that exist on the A4059 A470 and Heads of the Valleys road. There have been many housing developments in Cynon Valley with RCTC just tinkering with junctions roundabouts and traffic lights but the traffic queues just get bigger and bigger at peak times.

It seems developer’s rule in RCTC with planning officers bending to their every need not thinking of the long term when there are 2 or even 3 vehicles to each new property.

Everyone know how difficult it is to drive up to Cwmaman but the planning officers found no objection to another major development in Godreaman local councillors threw it out only to be approved by the Planning Inspectorate in Cardiff, but the Planning Inspector or RCTC planning department staff haven’t the problems of driving in and out of Cwmaman, but that’s planners for you.
