18 weeks in prison for stealing cash and sweets from the WRVS shop in Prince Charles Hospital.

A man has been given 18 weeks in prison after stealing cash and sweets from the WRVS shop in Prince Charles Hospital.
The burglary happened at about 6am yesterday (February 7).
John-Paul Berry, aged 23, of Radyr, Cardiff today pleaded guilty to the offence and sentenced to 18 weeks in prison.
DCI Marc Lamerton said: “This was excellent police work by the officers who, following a description from the victim, spotted the suspect at the mini roundabout outside the hospital. Their quick actions meant he was still in possession of the stolen money.
“This was a partially callous crime targeting a charity and we are pleased to be able to bring it to a swift conclusion with a custodial sentence.”
