Controversial Planning Decision Abernant

I do believe a Controversial planning application that was passed in Abernant much to the resent of local people in the village.
I understand that local members on the council were in opposition to the application and voted against this application, therefore is there any truth in the rumours that one councillor who was absolutely against the application has allegedly acquired the largest plot on the controversial site.
Is there any truth in the alleged rumour?

Yes thats right CORRUPTION the whole authority stinks of it and this is just another example.
Can I ask Robertstownboy why he makes that statement?
And as for this being "Another example" does anyone know if this story is true?

Maybe uf peopel stuck to the facts on here instead of all the rumours and attacks about various political parties etc this site would be used a bit more. Has everyone noticed how over the last year this site is used less and less?
The simple answer to your statement is all the local councillor has to do is either deny or confirm if there is any substance in the posting.
As for the poster mentioning the C word Perhaps like myself he has had first hand experience of corruption at RCT.
Lewis - in you saying the local member just has to agree or deny he has bought a plot of land.... has anyone asked the local member? Or is it just a case of pot something on here - never mind if not true as its just something to gossip about?
For god sake have ago at those who do wrong but at least make sure its true first!
I wouldn’t start on the subject of certain councillors doing wrong not at this time that’s to come.
The answer is simple answer yes or no would do there are a number of local members in Cynon Valley I don’t know who it is.
There are many other sites like this one across the Net where controversial statements are made with regards to the honour, or lack of it, of local and national politicians. Those sites are thriving, with more and more people signing up to add their voices to the debates.
Some things mentioned on those sites are far more biting and scurrilous than anything that you'll ever read on here. Check out the sites of newspapers where readers add their comments to see what I'm talking about. Some of them make your hair stand on end.
The whole point of this therefore is that charges of skulduggery against certain councillors is not what has made this site less well used. The presence of a certain faction who came on here some time ago and launched tirades of abuse and threats against contributors, obviously with the sole aim of silencing dissent, is what caused the site to become the pallid shadow of its former self.
Who knows, maybe they were Labour stooges out to crush any dissent or revelation about certain discrepancies about which we can only speculate, or they represented other vested interests that I’m sure we can all attach a name to. That, together with another group who for some reason didn't like discussions of "heavy" stuff on a forum that is supposed to be there for that very purpose!
This other faction, who preferred the "fun" angle as they called it to serious debate then proceeded to demand that we cease to talk about real issues and instead concentrate on the light stuff and “banter” and not become embroilled in all this serious stuff as it probably made their heads hurt to do any thinking about it. After all, drivel doesn’t call for much grey matter now does it?
Anyway, the site in Abernant stands out as an example of the arrogance of this Labour controlled council of ours. I won’t go into all the details here as it’s been discussed many times, along with other sites throughout RCT.
Suffice it to say that when the majority of people are against an issue and the council planners ignore them completely, in my book that is not democracy but dictatorship, and that is the situation we have in RCT and many other councils throughout the country since Labour came to power: an elected dictatorship that tells the people who vote for it what they will do and what they will have because Nanny Labour knows best, and therefore you will do as you are told!
I also happen to know the councillor mentioned in this thread who is supposed to have bought a site on the development, even though he gave the impression that he was against it at the time. I have it on very reliable authority that he has denied any such action on his part, but on that score we hang fire and wait and see.

Why not build houses, whats on the site currently ???
get some more decent homes in aberdare, over a certain quantity on the site has to go to social housing anyway so stop whingeing and lets get some houses built.It will raise the value of the property in the whole area and only 45 minutes from Kairdiff and the big wide world.

For the record it is completely untrue, which is bad news for you sad conspiracy theorist. God I'm glad my life hasn't taken a wrong turn and I end up as bitter as some of the people on here.
I cant believe that some people are still posting about this, its happening so get over it or move somewhere else. This valley needs more houses and more investment. If of course you are of the pursuasion that you hate to see people getting on in life then bad news is good news isn't it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Develop the brown field sites first then look at the green sites, we have a lovely field in Cwmbach but a local business man is going to build luxury houses and the council sent all the letters to houses away from the site.
Dirty trix, our local councillor is old and should have been put to grass years ago, does not know how to email or use a computer.
