Not many people have been posting on this site, is it on it's way out?

well i stopped posting cause i seem to have had the p**s ripped out of me in one of the posts so whats the point. this site is not as friendly as it used to be

I've backed away because this place just isn't as friendly and open as it once was.

Why worry about the apparent unfriendliness of the site? Speak your mind if you have something that interests yourself and you think might interest others. Honest discussion shouldn't harm anyone.
Without postees like yourself, the site WILL die!!

Well-said echo 1 AberdareOnline is there for you to express yourself if you have any news etc let others know.

Don’t be put off by posters attempting to put you down everyone has a right to speak their mind its called freedom of speech.

Hi Well said allof you .i come on here sometime.i find it quite frendly most of the time.as you say we have all got our point of veiw.

I have tended to lose the impetus to contribute,as most general subjects that start in this discussion area, end up getting heavy with either local politics or racism or simply hitting up the local council. Not that there is anything wrong with those topics but there are other areas on this site for that and I think perhaps those that do contribute to the general discussion page have "lost faith". Its a shame as being a valley "exile" I do enjoy hearing about the things going on at home and certainly, remembering better past times. Those topics always generated a good response and more than often some fun. Its a shame.

we have lost so many old members from this site and to be quite honest some of the new members are not as friendly. remember when we have the games and daily or weekly jokes. i remember this site when we had between 10 and 20 new topics posted a day, now we are lucky to get 2 new topics a week.

my favourite memories of the old site were the christmas get togethers and does anyone remember our treasure hunt games?? working out the clues then going to look for the treasure that was hidden in the cynon valley.

we dont do anything anymore and its quite sad really but whats the point if your just gonna get shot down. i actually tried to delete one of my topics lastnight after reading peoples responses but couldnt do it :(

funny thing is i just looked at the other topic that i started and the 3 people who have taken the P have not yet been verified..... wonder if they are all the same person?? sad really aint they.

It is so sad that this forum is so quiet these days.
Like others have said it use to be a thriving site and there was always plenty of new posts funny and serious put in for us to join in and chat about or just to have a good laugh.
I do pop in most weeks to see whats going on and have a chat but there is rarely anyone about.:-(

It really is up to us that miss the old site to try and get it going again .

So come on everyone ,even if we only pop in to say hello and ask how you are all getting on .
It would be a start anyway.

well said hun. i'm gonna start looking for jokes and new games to put on here lol.

HAVE A LITTLE CHORTLE AT THIS.

An elderly couple booked to go on a cruise for a fortnight The cruise company allowed dogs to be taken as well, so they took their little terrier called Sam with them.
On the first day of the cruise, Sam saw tha ships cat, and ran after him. He leapt at the cat, missed him, and went overboard into the sea. The old couple pleaded with the captain to stop the ship and go after the dog, who could be seen swimming in the oposite direction, but the Captain wouldn't hear of it, and carried on sailing , full steam ahead.During the cruise one of the many shows was a mystic, the old couple went to see him , and he said straight away, "Have you lost a dog" to which they replied "Yes", the mystic said "I'M having a strong feeling about this, and i feel you could well be supprised when you get back home"
So after a miserable fortnight the old couples ship docked in southampton . They drove home and as they walked up the path to their house, there ,on the doorstep, waiting for them was---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Fourteen pints of milk, they had forgotten to tell the milkman they were going away for a fortnight!!!FOFLMAO

DMJ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thought you had either passed on or had been banged up inside for some dubious crime!1 Good to see an OLD Abertafian here again.

That was a funny story which reminded me of the Reception held for the Olympic teams including the Para-Olympic athletes. All the sportspeople were lined up and being met by Princess Anne who asked them what their sport was and she told them how impressed she was by their courage and overcoming their disablities. She came in front of a man in an orange overall, dark glasses and a white stick She asked his name and what he did and he told her "Freefall Parachuting". She was quite shocked and told him that he was tremendously brave, she took his hand and shook it and walked on.

As she walked away, she suddenly had a thought and came back to him. She said "Its Princess Anne again, I don't understand it, when your coming down on your parachute, how do you know when your going to hit the ground"?

He said.................

"That's easy Ma'am the lead on the Guide Dog goes slack" !!!!

Thanks guys a couple of good laughs there, keep them coming we could do with a bit of cheering up on here.
