Coucil Open Day at Sobells

So is anyone going to pop down to the Ynys today and have a look at what each and every department does within the council?
All of those people who moan and groan on this forum (not so many these days actually) will have a chance to clarify issues, put your questions to people who make decisions or are involved in delivery.
I went to the one they arranged in Ystrad last year. It was actually very good and worthwhile.

I called in to the Sports Center after work this evening and spent an hour there chatting and sounding off! I'm not one to heap praise on RCT Council by any means, but this was a very worthwhile exercise and the council is to be congratulated. The staff were friendly and helpful, very professional in their approach and conducted themselves in a relaxed manner whilst supplying a lot of information and listening to my grouses!
They've had a lot of people there today, and I'm sure that there must have been a lot of sounding off besides me. If action is now followed up on what has been suggested by all and sundry today, then I think RCT may be on the way to better things.
We wait and see though whether or not this is just a PR exercise for the council to appear to be listening. It would be sorely disappointing if it is, but on the other hand it may hopefully bring about some accountability at long last. After all, contrary to what many councillors have forgotten, the council is there to serve US not the other way about. Let's see many more such exercises on our behalf.
