Common Purpose

Common Purpose has infested RCTBC.

YOU DID NOT ASK FOR IT, NOR DID YOU VOTE FOR IT....BUT YOU HAVE IT!

Those with "an hour to spare" are invited to read the whole article on:- http://www.stopcp.com/cpmindmap.php

There is a very good chart at the start which provides an excellent diagrammed explanation of the functions of Common Purpose.

Perhaps this will go some way to explain why things just dont seem to work as the ordinary sensible person would expect them to.

The dangers of Common Purpose are manifold, but primarily the gravest issue is that in reality there is no need for your local councillors as they are in reality.....superfluous as its the civil servants(the very name is a joke)that decide policy!

This in turn means that contrary to RCTBC's propaganda...you do not have a democratic council.

Democratically elected maybe, if you call call the party system democratic, then yes I would confirm, but as to policy making....no way!! ( Unless of course your ever smiling, greedy local councillors have attended a series of Common Purpose training seminars and have been assessed as being efficient, to go beyond boundaries!)

That,in my opinion, is all down to the Common Purpose adherents! And they believe in Leading Beyond Authority.

To my mind the authority in the UK is the law of the land, and none is above the law, but Common Purpose goes a fair way to explain why RCTBC often abuses the law.

Common Purpose founder and Chief Executive Julia Middleton has written a book: "Beyond Authority: Leadership in a Changing World." For those of you familiar with Orwell's 1984, it really is quite scary!

MORE ON COUNCILLOR'S POLICY MAKING LATER!

Is it as good as Mein Kampf? Sounds like it's cast in the same mould.

There used to be an organisation called the Economic League who would publish lists of left wing agitators and militant trade unionists for the perusal of employers only. I was a union shop steward once, and I'd heard that my name was on their list.

I hope so, as I'd have been very disappointed if all my efforts at seeking a better living wage and working conditions for my union members had resulted in my not being on the list. That would have shown me that I'd not been working and agitating hard enough. Still, it's nice to know that my efforts weren't in vain after all.

Free and open Britain eh? Even the Queen herself remarked that there are forces at work in this country of which we know very little. You don't even have to go very far to encounter those who would silence you if you get too close to the truth with certain allegations or the use of certain words.

We found that out on this site some years ago when our great democratic Labour council tried to silence certain factions on here for making remarks that could have exposed the skulduggery going on in council chambers. We were threatened with legal action unless the remarks were withdrawn.

If the heat is too hot for them, then they should have got out of the kitchen, and if they're ready to stick their heads above the parapet by becoming councillors in the first place then they should expect it to get shot at.

Politics is a dirty business, with very little room for honour or integrity, despite all their claims to the contrary. We've seen it with MPs and their expenses, and we see it with councillors with their expenses too. It might be legal to make such claims, but when you're coining it in to such an extent that it goes beyond the wildest dreams of your cash strapped constituents, then that to me is nothing short of legalised graft.

That's the reason why politics and politicians have such a low reputation and are considered the lowest of the low. After all, who knows what they really think and do behind closed doors? No wonder they relish secrecy and do their utmost to keep their activities away from public scrutiny. Our bunch of specimens in RCT are no different to all the others, from Parliament down to the smallest council chambers. It's the unwritten rules of the game, and nothing can change that.

Yes it can my friend the people can change things as they have always done right throughout History.

Push and squeeze the ordinary folk long enough and hard enough and the backlash will come, often with horrendous results for the oppressors.

I have never been a supporter of Common Purposes. I have seen evidence of the darker side of this organisation which trains people to go beyond their designated authority, irrespective of the law, which in general would restrict such activities as being Ultra Vires.

Common Purpose is an insidious organisation and its status as British charity is under server question and criticism. Common Purpose claims that it runs leadership development programmes across the UK. It was founded in 1989 by its current Chief Executive, Julia Middleton, with an aim is to improve the way organisations and society work together by developing all kinds of leaders through a programme of diverse challenges and approaches!

However I have been unable to find any highly qualified personnel possessing a publicly acknowledged degree of skill that would be required to fulfil the role of "trainers of leaders"

Besides there is no evidence that Common Purposes has had a positive impact on society since its founding in 1989. In fact it would be fair to state that the opposite is the case.......administrative matters certainly appear to be getting worse rather then better!

Common Purpose is a danger to the public and people need to start paying more attention to what is going on at a local level, especially in RCTBC, the police, civil service, NHS etc etc.

Such is the concern over the influence of Common Purpose that a number of UK national newspapers ran stories implying that Common Purpose had exerted improper influence over the Leveson Inquiry. The Daily Mail claimed that "like some giant octopus, Common Purpose's tentacles appear to reach into every cranny of the inner sanctums of Westminster, Whitehall and academia. The Sun reported quoted Conservative MP Philip Davies as saying "the way Common Purpose has managed to get itself into the Establishment is quite extraordinary.

On 25 November, The Daily Telegraph characterized Common Purpose as a secretive Fabian organisation.

Whatever the press and other concerned parties may conclude, you can be sure of one thing, and that is that Common Purpose does not stand for the best public interests, rather for those of a selective, clandestine, tightly knit band of pseudointellectual flibbertigibbets, that would wish to see the citizens of this nation as nothing more than sheep!

Town hall cash wasted on 'leadership training': Minister attacks taxpayer spending on Common Purpose courses

Communities Secretary Eric Pickles launches booklet called '50 Ways To Save'

Town halls should stop spending a fortune on expensive leadership training courses run by groups such as Common Purpose, Eric Pickles has said.

The Local Government Secretary called on councils to spend less on the organisation, described as the Left’s answer to the old boys’ network, which provides leadership advice.

He said it was wrong that town halls spent thousands of pounds sending staff and councillors on such courses at a time when front-line services were under threat.

Communities Secretary Eric Pickles has launched a booklet for councils called '50 Ways To Save Money'

The advice was contained in a booklet, 50 Ways to Save, which includes ideas from Mr Pickles on how to make deeper cuts without affecting public services.

Other ideas include spending less on translating documents, and ending the collection of ‘intrusive’ questionnaires from suppliers and residents about their sexuality and religion.

Mr Pickles said: ‘Every bit of the public sector needs to do their bit to pay off the budget deficit inherited from the last administration.

‘Councils should focus on cutting waste and making sensible savings to protect frontline services and keep council tax down.’

Last month the Daily Mail revealed that Common Purpose had direct or indirect links to three of the assessors to the Leveson inquiry, including Sir David Bell.

He is one of the trustees of the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, which carried out the botched investigation into child abuse at a Welsh care home which led to the naming online of former Tory treasurer Lord McAlpine.

The 50 Ways to Save document says: ‘End expensive leadership courses. Councils could review spending money on sending staff and councillors to expensive “leadership” training courses, such as Common Purpose.

Such training courses can often run into tens of thousands of pounds.’

Mr Pickles also called on town halls to stop spending thousands of pounds translating papers into other languages, saying it encourages segregation.

He added: ‘Similarly, do not give community grants to organisations which promote segregation or division in society.’

The document also calls on town halls to end ‘lifestyle and equality questionnaires’.

‘Some councils spend time and money on asking suppliers and residents to fill out intrusive questionnaires about their sexuality, religion and other personal details – be it to take out a library book or make a planning application.

‘This is simply not necessary. Similarly, councils do not need to routinely spend time and money on equality impact assessments on everything they do.’

Mr Pickles said senior staff pay should be cut, recruitment should be frozen, first-class travel should be banned, and spending on outside consultants slashed.

Taxpayer-funded pensions for councillors are to be scrapped, Mr Pickles announced yesterday.

Labour introduced the gold-plated pensions on September 12, 2001 – the day after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York – in an infamous attempt to ‘bury bad news’.

More than 4,500 councillors have signed up, at a cost to taxpayers of £7million a year.

Now the Coalition is proposing that, from 2014, the entitlement will be axed and councillors will no longer be able to enrol on the scheme.

They say it will stop the trend of councillors seeing their position as a job, rather than something they do for the good of the community.

Matthew Sinclair, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: ‘It will also restore faith that councillors are there to represent residents rather than forge a career as a professional politician.’

Purely as a matter of interest, do they have secret handshakes and signs as well, just like the Black Hand Gang?

They dont need them as they all know each common purpose trained person, and where they have been selectively placed.

It really is quite disgustingly obscene.
