Four Jobs Roberts
Posted by Y ddraenen from Aberdare on the 4th April 2012
It's now made the headlines of the local paper, as well as the WalesOnLine website, that the leader of the Labour group on RCT council is raking it in with his four jobs. How can he justify this? I used to find it tough enough holding one job down, but this specimen clearly works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, grafting and sweating blood to makes ends meet.
More to the point, when it was pointed out on this site some years back about the skulduggery going on behind the scenes by RCT councillors, Labour again I might add, the legal department of the council threatened legal action to silence us. Well, come on then, RCT bully boys, let's see you do the same against Cynon Valley Leader, which has similarly exposed the skulduggery of this self seeking character.
Also, not so long ago the member for Aberaman North, and Labour deputy leader, Anthony Christopher was busy extolling the virtues of Four Jobs Roberts and telling us how lucky we all are to have him working on our behalf.
Well, in similar vein, come on now, Christopher, tell us how it is that we're so lucky to have him tirelessly grafting for us. Give us an explanation of how the blatant self interest of Roberts is of great benefit to the community he is supposed to represent.
I will guarantee one thing on this issue: We will get no response from Christopher nor any of his servile cronies in the Labour Party, because none of them wants to rock the boat or kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
Still, we're all in it together though, eh?

What can you say about Roberts and his gang, as I have said before there are just a small number running this council the rest of Labour are just sheep’s heads nodding as required. He certainly doesn’t warrant the vast money he receives from public taxes; I assume the council employ extra staff to do his work, as he is no working for RCTC fulltime. No doubt the people who suck up to him all have brown tongue syndrome.
Labour = Hypocritical gangsters.

Time to get rid of these maggots.
It's appalling.
If he was to attend properly to all his jobs he would have to live on a timeless planet. If you added up all the days he should spend on these four jobs he would probably have to work a 12 day week!
It's the wallet for 4 years and then the ballot for 4 weeks!
It's sick.
Graeme.
Those of us with a brain in our heads and eyes to see know exactly what the Labour Party is in Wales. They are the cause of us remaining in the Dark Ages, and until we oust the Russel Roberts gang of self serving brigands from RCT we will remain backward, servile and compliant.
Roberts and his hangers on get away with what they inflict upon us because the voters in RCT have not yet woken up to the scale of their skulduggery. If Roberts and Christopher and the rest of the gang are still in power after the next council elections then it will mean only one thing, and that is that the people of RCT agree with their blatant self interest and approve of it. Such being the case, the voters deserve all they get.
Those of us that are left should then follow the dictate of the former East Germany, and get the hell out of it. The last one out, switch the lights off!
RCT council leader paid £100,000 for four jobs
Labours deputy leader in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Coun Anthony Christopher, said: This is total electioneering on the part of Plaid Cymru.
I assume all Labour councillors agree and 4 jobs is not overpaid. If that’s the case what does that say about your Labour councillor? When people around RCT are struggling to pay bills when basic things like food are going up weekly.
What does the deputy leader think the opposition should be doing sitting back and not criticizing the obscene amount of money taken from the public purse by 4 jobs?

Why has nt he found time to do a stint in Mcdonalds or stack shelves in tescos, the boys slacking, or are his jobs not real jobs but just mickey mouse cash in the bank and he has kissed so much bottom he could fall into any council job even on his deathbed.
Ooooh who's next up for mayor mmmmmmmmm
Stacking shelves in Tesco’s working in McDonald's now don’t be silly Russell that will mean he will have to work for his money.
All 4 jobs has to do now for his £100,000 is get out of bed the brown tongue brigade do all his work for him, he is out and about looking interested in peoples explanations I suppose some people call it work photo here photo there no he wouldn’t have the time to work for his £100,000 a year.
As I understand it Russell Roberts is 65 and a state pensioner. I don't know many pensioners (well none actually) on that kind of money. But it's not just him. The Gravy Train trundles on to his minions below as well.
Example: The Chair of the Environmental Services Scrutiny Committee (Cllr. Tina Leyshon - Rhondda Ward) chaired just 7 meetings in 2010/11 and it actually works out at (and you can believe this - cause I couldn't make it up to sound any worse) £1,386 per meeting. The meetings vary in time spent but can be as short as 40mins. Nice work if you can get it eh?
I understand that the Lord what-y-call fella who sits on the Woolsack in the House of Lords and controls those who nap all day gets £1,200 per session.
It's a Gravy Train and it's our gravy!
Graeme.
Ahhhhhhhh Bisto express, wont be long before the harriden joins the members on the 07.00 cardiff to london paddington for her quick chat, free large lunch including liquid, nap on the woolsack, off to the loo, spot of high tea. Then she will ponce around the lords library more scran then catch the 19.30 from london paddington back to cardiff and snore all the way in first class courtesy of the tax payers.
DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM, she said to the ticket collector in first class who thinks she is some bag lady looking for a FREE UPGRADE TO FIRST CLASS FROM BAGGAGE CLASS.
peeeeeeeep the train now arriving at platform two is the 07.00 Bisto Express from Cardiff Central to the house of lords, spongers, snake oil sellers,MP's, councillors,Lords, Ladies and con artist including Mr and Mrs Kerching golden wallet Kinnock, ne're do wells,to the front all other passengers to the cattle car at the rear.
I see councillor Tina Leyshon acquired 619 votes in 2008, I wonder how many of those Labour voters are paid a pittance compared to our Tina £1,386 for 40 minutes work.
Lots of room in the trough at RTCC
Next they will be out canvassing for your vote as if they have done nothing wrong.
Nice one, russel, you've described these freeloaders down to a T. I notice that some other brown nose from the Labour Party has written a supporting letter to the CV Leader this week; following in the wake of Anthony Christopher, who told us all some time ago how lucky we are to have Four Jobs Roberts grafting his guts out on our behalf.
I'm retired now, but I know that when I was in regular, full time work I could never have held down four jobs at once, at least not doing justice to them all. Anyway, I needed to sleep and take some leisure during my working life, but it would appear that this specimen can work twenty four hours a day, seven days a week in order to complete his duties in all the jobs he's taken on.
Oh what a selfless character he must be to be continuously thinking about the welfare and well being of his consitutents. So much so that he wears his fingers to the bone in working so hard on our behalf. Sorry guys, but it just doesn't add up, or if it does, it works out at about £100,000 a year for Roberts's bank balance.
How could anyone trust these characters any longer? This is such blatant self interest and being on the make, that it defies description, and no matter how much his cronies try to justify it, the fact remains that in the end, you cannot defend the indefensible.
Forget 4 jobs now its 5 jobs Roberts an extra £2,593 a year as a member of the London-based Local Government Improvement and Development Board. That takes his annual earnings to as much as £102,443 a year.

And the sheep will still vote Labour in the local elections
Do we all need to get on the Labour band wagon to get on in South Wales it seems like a closed shop to me.
Earning £100k is wrong and I do think that it needs to be capped - however I read with interest that Councillor Jarman the whiter than white councillor may also have misled people in saying she never claimed from the council while being an AM, the press says that through a FOI she did and when asked she cant remember - bloody rubbish, she remembers I bet!

Graeme.
He was struggling so he's taken another job now to make it five (5)
They can't be much of a job if he can manage five of them so how come he get's paid so much.
If the voters of RCT can accept this they deserve all they get.
Labour in RCT and Nationally have been taking advantage of the people for far too long, They are almost as bad as the tories now in looking after themselves and not representing the people they are supposed to.
And how do do reckon they pay for these lavish lifestyles?

Aroundtown...
Cllr Pauline Jarman did not claim ANY allowance from RCT council while she also played a role as AM.
The term of office as an AM is approx 4 years and that of a councillor 5 years. In the years of office 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, Pauline claimed no allowance from RCT council. Zilch. Zero. It is true that the last tax year (which is not the same period of time as the year years of relevant office) she did claim, the basic allowance, in the year she stood down as AM. Please note, that this is on record at the council, although it is quite obvious the Labour manufactured a FoI request to access the information they already have. This is a ploy to falsely suggest that this data has been withheld. It is also true that Pauline cannot remember the exact dates of the periods of payments in the final year and how the dates of office vary from the tax year in 2003. I do, as I have obtained the data from another source.
Perhaps, the Labour Party wishes to publish the full FoI request, online, and allow its publication by Trinity Mirror newspapers?
Russell 5 jobs said
“I think it speaks for itself. We were recently recognised and commended by the Wales Audit Office which shows we have done a good job.”
Are RCTC in bed with Wales Audit Office? Who can believe what they say lets not forget in the past WAO had shown a significant overspend in its accounts over the previous five years.
Overspend by WAO
The fact it was not meant the size of the overspend did not come to light until recently and the National Audit Office was asked to investigate.
The NAO’s report was critical of the WAO for not meeting the established accountancy standards expected of a public body.
Having requested the Wales Audit Office to investigate Rhondda Cynon Taf Council with regard to the manipulation of over £23000 by the finance department at RCTC the information I received under the Freedom of Information Act demonstrated there was little investigation done by the Wales Audit Office e-mails were nothing but a joke, this was after the welsh ombudsman had found RCTC guilty but the Wales Audit Office found nothing wrong funny that if it hadn’t been the manipulation of over £23000.
So sorry 5 jobs lets not take what the Wales Audit Office say about your authority to serious.
