The bigger scandal – if you only knew

So after giving our members of Parliament a shakedown does everyone feel that they have cleansed the system of Government. Silly people, when in fact the biggest gravy train is to be found in your local council. Under this and previous Labour regimes there was quite a division of spoils. Let us look at the local housing association – an excellent quango to which privileged members of the Labour party would be found trusteeships whose emoluments were quite respectable. Central Government has always known that there were dark goings on, so if you happened to fall foul of a housing association bureaucracy a letter to the ministry of Housing could give you the last annual report of said association together with the names and addresses of their trustees since they are not allowed to hide their existence.
Do you remember when there used to be huge housing grants in the past which were impossible to latch hold of unless you were an asian immigrant. Yes they did get more than their fair share but this was merely a smoke screen for those who got an even bigger slice of the cake. So who were these people? Well first off were those people working in senior positions in the housing associations. How did they skim the cream? The scam was quite simple – the housing association would buy a house in need of repair, however the labour and materials for this one house was split to repair another two houses which were not in the ownership of the housing association. To make this scam work required accomplices in the local council who would cover the paper work and provide the grant money for both the housing association and the scammers. However the contacts in the council provided more than just grant money they also provided knowledge of a steady stream of properties which were being sold under duress of one sort or another. Remember your grandmother being forced to sell up and go into a home – who do you think bought the house? The REITS legislation was a simply a method of tidying up the animal which was created. Thus you would get a property company wherein all the directors were housing association and council senior people with a sprinkling of politicians wearing the red rosette -after all you must remember that until recently most councils were Labour.
Of course such an animal requires constant feeding with fresh low priced property sold under duress. This is why our friendly Labour Government have introduced a green paper concerning care of the elderly which will require sale of their homes and a large lump sum as well as huge weekly fees from their guilt ridden children for the maintenance of these elderly people in old people ghettoes where they are kept in squalor. Of course to get these elderly people into these homes requires a medical opinion – so guess who is a director of the property company – your local GP as well as being a silent partner in the ownership of the residential care home. This prescription is repeated in most boroughs throughout our united kingdom and the property ownership is vested in an overseas company. Councillors could stop this if they wanted to but they do not want to. In fact they promote legislation where the council get to choose who is suitable to be a landlord of rented accommodation – and guess who they choose?
