Making the valley greener.

COMMUNITIES are being brought together with the eventual aim of creating a country park on old industrial land in the Cynon Valley.

Plaid Cymru councillors Huw Williams and Howard Davies and Valleys Plaid AM Leanne Wood believe the transformation of land between Abercwmboi and Cwmaman, close to Godreaman, could have huge potential to create leisure tourism. Residents can contact Coun Williams on 07814 498286 and Coun Howard Davies on 01685 876862.

The land between Abercwmboi and Cwmaman, a number of years ago a company attempted to recycle coal from the old redundant tips, I don’t know what happened but the area looked like the Somme and no one eager to clean the area up at the time. There has been a coal washerie in mothballs from that time with security paid for by RCT I think. The area has gone back to nature grown back naturally.

The old Phurnicite, better if resources were given to that area of land the people deserve the whole area cleaned up and landscaped, having lived in Abercwmboi years ago remembering the Phurnicite running to its capacity.
The Welsh Assembly spent £12 million to clean up part of the site at Abercwmboi, but the Assembly can spend £20 million a time on each new paper pushing office they build all over Wales.
