OAP asked to clean up a neighbours rubbish

Due to an as yet unmoved pile of rubbish (including broken glass, jagged wood and waste food containers) left outside my next-door neighbours property I called the Landlords (RCT Homes). A few minutes later a phone call was made to a local Pensioner asking her to pick up the glass and put it in a bin. I asked her why on earth they had called her and was told they (the landlords) are unable to touch the rubbish until the 'occupier' hands the keys back in. If this is not insanity I do not know what is.

Update RCT Public Health and Safety can do nothing about this as the property is owned by RCT Homes (a private organisation).

Update 2 I have spoken to Councillor Idris Jones office to discover that he has a place on the RCT Homes board and is absolutely disgusted with their behaviour and practises :-)

Angelfish, Is this the same area that was in the paper a couple of months back, the story was about a person that had flowers in tubs and were deemed dangerous by the council as they could cause a hinderance if a fire broke out?

It is indeed. I was the person who had the flowers! Anyway good news. RCT Homes hired contractors to remove this eyesore at 4:30pm today. Goes to show that sometimes persistence pays off :-)

Angelfishsolo, Iam so pleased to hear that the rubbish has been removed from outside your propety, lets hope it stays that way and you have no more problems.

Thanks for the reply.

It's too bad that you have to chase around to get things done ( I think we've all been there).

I for one was appalled in reading in the local paper about your battle with petty people in office when you in turn are trying to improove the area that you live.

Recalling the photo in the paper, The flowers you had on show did not impinge on the footwalk and you get slated yet there can be a pile of unsightly and even dangerous rubbish accross the pathway and you have to chase those in office so it can get cleaned. Utter madness yet again.

Trish - Thanks ever so much :-)

Onevoice666 - I agree it is bureaucratic insanity exemplified.
