Police send message to Rhondda drug dealers on Valentine’s Day
Police in Rhondda shot an arrow straight through the heart of a sophisticated drugs operation capable of generating thousands of pounds on Valentine’s Day.
Officers uncovered a cannabis factory as they entered an insecure premises at a terraced house in Maindy Road, Pentre, on Saturday February 14th 2015.
They entered the property at night after they received information from the public.
Three rooms throughout the terraced property were being used to grow around 60 cannabis plants, which could potentially yield cannabis with a street value of around £60,000.
An investigation is ongoing to trace individuals linked to the premises which was empty at the time officers entered.
Rhondda Inspector Nick Picton, said: “Public information is vital - time and time again people who act on their suspicions are proved right. Cannabis factories have cropped up in all kinds of places, but what’s clear is that there is no real place to hide, as long as the general public act on their instincts.
“Another successful intervention will tell those intent on committing such crimes that Rhondda is no a soft target.”
